peak experiences

i had to work a little late last night. i missed having my photo taken, but i had asked nathan if he wanted to hang out earlier in the day up at gregs. so as soon as i could get off yesterday evening, i grabbed my belongings and caught a bus up to the mercaaz.

of course, as usual, i found a place next to an outlet, plugged in my laptop, ordered my traditional drink of an irish coffee ("but with no alcohol please" - see khat i'm learning, and it was a new waitress who was there....so :D ) and sat down to do a solid hours work of organizing and systematizing before nathan's cool presence swept into the cafe.

we talked and joked, and shared the funny experiences of the day (well, mostly on his side :D), and naturally, as conversation tends to do, we began to muse about the GRE. I pulled up sample tests on the internet, and we went to town.

...i think...yeah....we passed, let's leave it at that. but we both realized alot about what we had forgotten since university, and how easy it is just to switch alot of that knowledge off.

we did this for a few hours actually, and when we finally left gregs it was close to 11. we gathered our things and headed towards the Terraces. We were both exhausted and had to concentrate on not falling over...unfortunately this concentrating on staying up caused nathan to miss his exit over to his place on the upper Terraces (i, of course, just had to keep heading down). so, nathan finally left me, heading off into the dark, and i found myself approaching the Shrine in solitude and silence.

i stayed and prayed there for another 20 or 30 minutes. praying there so close to midnight is...indescribable.

i left that Place elated but calm, and sang my way down the remaining Terraces back into the noise of the world. I wish my bed had already been made, but i had removed the bed clothes to be washed, and so since those where still at my office i had to use the only available set of sheets - a set composed of pink and polka dots - i had no other options.

and so i fixed everything up, and went to bed. the end!
