luis, be proud. this morning i did it. you know, that thing we were talking about.

yesterday, we said goodbye to richard. he worked in my building. other than the senior staff, and one other person, rich had been the only other one to be serving in 10 haparsim longer than me. he's moving back to auckland now with his wife, who no doubt will also be missed.

i looked at him as we had his farewell...and i listened to him speak about his time here...and for all his rougher edges, he's such a good guy. no, that's insufficient. other words that come to mind - strong, stalwart, focused, professional. when he was in business mode, nothing could break him out of it.

ha. this is beginning to sound like an obituary.

i'll miss him - a lot.
