a reconnect

for the past three or so mornings, i have woken up with the urge to read. i walked out into my living room three days ago, looked at my bookshelf and saw one that i hadn't picked up in quite some time: Door of Hope.

i'm taking my time going through it, so i've only made it through the first chapter dealing with the history of Akka, which has been completely fascinating. i think i'm going to try to make it a goal to:

1) read the whole book :P
2) try to memorize pieces of the book, with the intent of beefing up my storing telling reservoir

gravity

i saw the picture of Jameh this morning again...the one where he is positioned next to Taleh...and i was suddenly hit with the realization of the passage of time - i felt momentarily exhilirated and simultaneously completely gutted. periodically, i think, if you are a conscientious person, certain things keep coming back to you as you continually look towards development - these things often concern distinction, maturity, development, control and detachment as they relate to our spiritual/rational states. it's easy to loose track of these things, but again, if you have it ingrained in you to be in a constant state of revision, or to at least try for that, then the realities of things often come back and, with two pads fully charged and pressed to your chest, shock you back into place. i guess the trick is to get to a place where your able to weather things, and so maybe this is just a part of being a young adult, and the wisdom and maturity of time and age will bring about that balance. as i sat here and saw that picture, time came by and smacked me full in the face.

I wish I had flowers on my desk...

I have a vase that has been sitting on my desk since my first day of work here, I need to finally put flowers in it.

I've reorganized my desk only once in about 9 months, it's time for a little change.

I'm going to be moving into a new room soon, and I plan on painting it. I would be most grateful for color suggestions.

I went to sleep last night with what I thought were some great ideas for a working poem...but I've forgotten them. They'll resurface at some point.
