I've had 5 or 7 cups of peppermint tea today. Is that...umm...excessive?

the weight of the world getting you down?

so after an almost complete waste of blog space with that post of this past Sunday (which i still hope you'll vote for), here is a short story.

after lunch yesterday, i was walking to to get a ride with a lady that works in my building. she was putting plastic bottles into a recycling bin, when i walked up behind her and startled her with just a soft "hello Mary" (Mary is not her real name - an alias if you will).

we joked on the way down the mountain to the office (she is a wonderful lady - very sincere). when we were almost there, she said to me "do you know what i was thinking about when you came up to me earlier? i was just thinking about how revolutionary the Baha'i work ethic is. here we are at the World Centre all moving around like little ants - when our communities get bigger, and we affect more people with our ideas, just think of the potential. i mean, as it is, honestly we shouldn't be able to do what we do with the numbers that we have. when we do things, people think we have 80-100 people in a community, when if fact we may just have 10-15."

AND...i think she is spot on. even now, even in our infinitesimal understanding of how to apply the teachings to our life - how to make everything more purposeful, and ultimately for the love of God - we are achieving great things. just think of when our environment and our education truly converge and reinforce the future generations in the holistic manner that they should and serve to propel us into unimaginable greatness and achievement.

just thinking about it makes my heart beat a little faster.
